TL;DR

  1. Software RAID-1 normally do not support dynamic resizing of capacity if larger hard drives are swapped into the RAID array.
  2. Previously written articles require the use of a separate PC to perform the resizing process.
  3. Volume syncing, partition, RAID Array and filesystem resizings can be done with out any need of other hardware. The Fonz Fun Plug tool is used to enable remote access into the NAS box.
  4. The swap partitions on the individual drives are used to avoid external used of storage, which isn’t available on the DNS-321.
